We pay our DSPs what the work is worth and back it up with benefits that start on day one. Here’s exactly what that looks like.
Starting Pay
$25–$26/hr
DSP starting wage, top of the Oregon I/DD market.
Health Insurance
Medical, dental, vision
Full-time eligible after 30 days. NSO pays 50% of the employee premium.
401(k) Match
Up to 3.5%
Of your compensation, every paycheck.
Overtime
Up to $145K/yr possible
Uncapped overtime for full-time staff. A parent caregiver working 17 hrs/day × 5 days/wk at $25–$26/hr earns $140K–$145K a year with OT included. If you want the hours, we don’t cap them.

Statewide + 7 DSA hubs
In-home attendant care across Oregon. Day Support Activities in Albany, Corvallis, Eugene, Springfield, Salem, Tangent, and Grants Pass/Medford.

What the Work Actually Looks Like
Direct Support Professionals at North Star Oregon work in one of two settings — and some do both.
In-Home Attendant Care
You work one-on-one with the same individual in their home, supporting daily living: personal care, meals, routines, errands, and getting out into the community. It’s relationship work — you learn how one person communicates, what they enjoy, and what independence looks like for them, then help them build it. Shifts are steady and consistent, and you’re backed by a team that knows the client as well as you do.
Day Support Activities
You’re out in the community with a small group — bowling, art workshops, hikes, volunteering at food banks and animal shelters. Every outing doubles as skill-building: communication, safety awareness, social confidence, each tied to personalized goals in the participant’s Individual Support Plan. If you like days that are active, social, and different every week, this is that job.
No two days are identical, but the mission is: support people with I/DD to live full lives in their own homes and communities. You get 24 paid training hours a year to keep growing in the role — experienced DSPs and first-timers with the right heart are both welcome to apply.
