North Star Oregon provides a compassionate and comprehensive suite of services designed to empower individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), including life-enriching day support activities, professional in-home attendant care, and a robust network of resources for individuals and families navigating the complexities of IDD care. Our person-centered approach ensures that every individual receives tailored support that respects their unique abilities and aspirations.

Our commitment to excellence in IDD support is reflected in our tailored approach. We focus on fostering an environment where individuals with IDD can develop essential life skills, from interactive group activities in the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest to individualized skill-building sessions. Our attentive in-home services ensure that daily living needs are met with dignity and respect, whether it involves assistance with personal hygiene, nutrition management, or medication administration. We serve people from all walks of life and all ages, including children, adults, and seniors throughout Oregon.

Conditions We Serve

Below are some of the conditions we support — but not all. If you don’t see a specific diagnosis listed, please reach out and we can talk through whether North Star is the right fit.

Intellectual Disability (ID)

Characterized by significant limitations in intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior, affecting everyday social and practical skills.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

A developmental condition affecting communication, behavior, and social interaction, with a wide range of symptoms and severity.

Asperger's Syndrome

Now classified under ASD, characterized by difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication alongside focused interests.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

A range of effects that can occur from prenatal alcohol exposure, including physical, behavioral, and learning challenges.

Cerebral Palsy (CP)

A group of disorders affecting movement and muscle tone caused by damage to the developing brain, often before birth.

Down Syndrome

A genetic condition caused by the presence of an extra chromosome 21, resulting in developmental and intellectual challenges.

Having a listed condition does not automatically guarantee eligibility for our services.

Eligibility

To receive our services you must meet the Office of Developmental Disability Services criteria of having an intellectual or developmental disability and be eligible for K-Plan services. If you have any questions about working with us, feel free to get in touch with us. If you think that you would like to work with us, please contact your case manager, who will facilitate a meeting to determine if our services can meet your needs. If determined we are a good fit, your case manager will add the service to your ISP, authorizing North Star Oregon to work with you.

Day Support Activities

Community-based programming available in Albany, Corvallis, Eugene, Springfield, Salem, Tangent, and Grants Pass/Medford. Activities include bowling, art workshops, outdoor adventures, volunteering, and engagement activities designed to promote personal growth and community involvement.
