Where Care Meets Community
North Star Oregon's day support activities are designed to provide enriching experiences fostering personal growth and community integration. Whether it's striking pins at the local bowling alley, taking walks on local trails, or enjoying outings to the local art studio in Corvallis, Oregon, our activities keep both body and mind engaged. Participants can explore painting, crafting, and various arts that encourage creativity and self-expression.
We emphasize volunteering opportunities where participants contribute to their communities, whether it's lending a hand at the Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center, local food banks, participating in environmental cleanup efforts, or assisting at animal shelters. These experiences create a sense of achievement and belonging.
Day Support Activities: Nurturing Community Engagement & Communication

Our program focuses on starting and ending social interactions smoothly and recognizing unsafe situations with unfamiliar people. Each participant has personalized, measurable goals outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP).
We help individuals forge and strengthen personal relationships and share their unique interests, culture, talents, and gifts with others. Our programs support active participation in clubs, associations, and organizations, including roles in leadership and decision-making. We encourage the independence to initiate, plan, and partake in community activities.

DSA Calendars
We plan our activities carefully and release a new calendar every month. Our groups gather from 10 AM to 3 PM Monday through Friday and meet at a centralized meeting spot before heading out for the day's activities.
Some transportation can be provided depending on the availability of drivers and proximity of pickup and drop-off locations. Attendance frequency is flexible based on individual needs and availability.
Groups are small by design — we target a 1:5 staff ratio, well below the state cap. Some hubs have waitlists; reach out to check current openings in your area. We also welcome suggestions for future activities!

Our services are funded through Oregon’s K-Plan (Medicaid), so they typically cost families nothing out of pocket. We serve people from all walks of life and all ages — children, adults, and seniors — throughout the state of Oregon.
Here’s how the path works: your local Community Developmental Disabilities Program (CDDP) determines I/DD eligibility. From there, your Services Coordinator or Personal Agent connects you with us, we meet to make sure our services fit your needs, and Day Support Activities are added to your Individual Support Plan (ISP) — authorizing North Star Oregon to work with you. You can also check eligibility on Oregon.gov.
